Hello everyone,
I'm trying to set up an RSPS using the Elvarg-Community open-source files from GitHub (both the server and client). I've done most of the setup myself already, downloaded and extracted both zips, imported them into IntelliJ IDEA, installed Java 17 (Microsoft OpenJDK 17.0.15), set up Gradle and JDKs properly, and built both client and server without Gradle errors. I also set up a local web server using python -m http.server 80 to serve 127.0.0.1 runtime-config and session.json files, fixed some JSON formatting issues, renamed the files correctly, and modified the client to point to localhost instead of external URLs.
The client builds and opens, but when I run it, the window is just transparent , only the RuneLite client border shows, no game. I get a lot of errors like java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke "java.awt.Graphics.setColor(java.awt.Color)" because "graphics" is null, as well as Cannot invoke "com.runescape.cache.FileArchive.readFile(String)" because "streamLoader" is null, and also a ZipException: zip END header not found when the client tries to download and unzip a cache from a broken URL (https://assets.illerai.com/elvarg_cache.zip).
What I'm looking for:
Someone who can get the client and server fully working, fix the transparent client issue, get the cache loading properly, and make sure everything is ready for localhost testing.
This is mainly a one-time setup job to get everything running, I don't want to keep paying $20 an hour long-term, just need help getting over this first hurdle.
However, later down the road, if you're experienced with maps, interfaces, client backgrounds, logos, animations, and so on, there’s definitely going to be more work available (for pay if needed).
Payment: $20/hr for now (PayPal, Venmo, CashApp, or Crypto — whatever works).
I also need full ownership of all fixed files (server, client, cache, etc.). No reused/stolen/private code that could cause problems later, I’m building this seriously, planning on proper hosting, advertising, forums, and a full RSPS community.
If you’re experienced with Elvarg, RuneLite integration, or RSPS client/server setups, please PM me here.
We can move to Discord after that for easier communication and screensharing if needed.
