194 [195] Gauntlet | OSRS WITH A TWIST | $1000+ RELEASE IN PRIZES!

Yah kinda seems like owners sometimes will do anything to get players in. In reality it's very hard to actually win something. Just gives false hope

I've even heard owners false-winning their own competitions so they can keep prize. :kappa:

Server usually does this when their content is usually dried up/not enough to really PULL people in (Not speak about this server, just generally).

Not always the case. Big servers do this too occasionally, maybe not in the same way, but big prize pools will always help draw players in and its a good marketing strategy.

Yeah you are right, it does generate traffic . But I would say the "wrong" traffic . You will get a player base that are hungry for free stuff. And after one give away they will want more and more. If your a big server yes that totattly makes sense. But just starting out idk. It's best to use that money on server development IMO

Unfortunately, one of our developers decided to steal our source and attempt to ruin the economy as well as some of our code. Due to this action, we have put the server back into a beta phase where our upcoming release will now be October 15th. I am now happy to be apart of this team and help push production of the server further. It's clear that this thread hasn't been updated for a decent amount of time, but we've still been up and active up until August 24th, when the dramatic event happened. Upon the 15th of October, we will release an advertisement campaign to get the server back to where we were before the crash. We had averaged around 70 active players almost immediately upon first release, and hopefully we will gain even more traction to Gauntlet when our re-release is final. This has been a mere setback and we are now working tirelessly to provide much more quality content for the future.

I understand this might be deterring to some readers, but we have learned from our mistakes and refuse to give up on the project. I had been technically apart of the team since alpha phase, but hadn't been the most active developer. Now, after this dramatic event, I have pledged time and dedication to this project. Our current stage is a closed beta, and there are limited slots available. If you'd like to participate in the beta, please join the Discord server, and we may be able to come to an arrangement. This situation has been frustrating to all parties, but we will work hard to ensure nothing like this happens again - as well as correcting all and any clear issues you've communicated to us whilst we were online.

Thank you for understanding, and hope to see you online October 15th. :)

Another reason to work alone and buy services based on your needs with reputable people. Sucks to see that happen.

I agree. Any time I've ever "owned" a project, it's always been solo. Fortunately, I've been friends with Shinatobe for over a decade and have offered my services free of charge. No malicious intent here, I just like to code. :) The other developer that stole our source is wildly mediocre and I never understood, personally, why they were paying him to begin with. Due to this, I cannot shake a feeling of guilt for not being active when they needed me, and resorted to the individual in question.
