yeah ur actually right about Science vs Religion and the roles each play. I shouldn't have said religion has no role but i obviously understand what it seeks to answer (the "why are we here?" type questions) but I can't subscribe to a religion because I think asking those questions are pointless because we are here for no reason (once again this is my subjective opinion). We are the result of everything lining up perfectly and after your life you will not matter and nothing will happen to you. This is just what is logical to me. This will always be subjective because there will never be proof for which side of the argument is actually true... But the only problem i have with what ur saying is, how is religion making use of empirical knowledge when it's all about faith? When the mayans devised their religion they looked at the sun and had no explanation for it, so said that there is a God of the Sun. They couldn't explain why weather happened so they said that there was a weather God that sometimes got upset with them lmaoooo. How is this based on observations? It's literally based on faith that some idiot devised and everyone followed. Modern day science is actually concerned with logic, not with faith and beliefs.
